Having a web site has been an integral part of a business nowadays. It is the core of credibility in this virtual world. It is the source of online presence that breeds trust and confidence among the viewers or site visitors. It is a standard for expertise, a proof that there is a real person behind the virtual connection.
As the words itself says, a website or web site is a ‘site’ on the ‘web.’ In reality, a site is technically the location of a business or simply a home. Of course, it has an address so anybody who would look for it will surely reach the place. This virtual world runs on the ‘web’ and a web site is a location on the web. It also has an address that is popularly known as the ‘website address,’ or the URL (Uniform Resource Locator), which is quite a technical term. It usually starts with ‘http://’ or basically ‘www.’Â It is also popularly known as the domain.
Moreover, it is an office or home in the virtual world, where it is not so easy to prove yourself credible as there have also been a lot of scammers around. The good thing is that having a site that appears to be owned by a real and honest person raises the points of trust and confidence of the site visitors on the person who owns it, though they have not seen each other in person. It usually takes sometime to build this foundation of trust. However, it will all start with your own web site.
On the other hand, a web site usually has several ‘web pages,’ which serves like rooms in an physical office or home. Every page may have its own theme, depending on its content. The only difference is that every web page can be explored by anybody around the world if it does not have restrictions.
In the end, it is important for a business, whether it is a physical or an online business, to have an appealing and trust-building web site. It serves as your spokesperson around the world even when you are sleeping.
